Stella Mbonteh, also known as Mama Stella, is a gifted songwriter and a leader in praise and worship. She is also a children's minister and a cherished mentor. Ever since she recognized her calling to serve as a music minister, she has pursued it with creativity and dedication.
She has penned numerous competition songs for local church communities, many of which have a record of victories. Currently, she has over a hundred unpublished songs that are nonetheless inspiring. Born on 18 April 1962, Mama Stella, now 61 years old, hails from a family of worshippers. Her mother, Mama Lucy Mbonteh, was a dedicated alto chorister, and her father, Papa Matthew Ewane Mbonteh, was a fantastic dancer and a strong supporter of the ministry. May their souls rest in peace.
Mama Stella's musical journey began in her early years, continuing through high school and university, where she took on significant roles as a choir mistress, song leader, and songwriter. Her path took a dramatic turn in 2006 when she received a profound message to distinguish herself from the crowd and shine for Christ. This led to the release of her first musical album, "God's Purpose," in 2008.
Hailing from Nkikoh Bangem in the South West Region of Cameroon, Mama Stella, the Cameroonian gospel artist, is a mother figure to many. She holds a certificate from Kumba Bible Training Center (KBTC), a diploma from the Children's Outreach Ministry (COM), a B.A. in English from UNIYAO, and a DIPES 2 from ENS Yaounde. She is a motivational speaker and a teacher of the Word.
Her music ministry, GodFameKeepers (Ps. 45:17), has been a tremendous blessing to many souls both locally and internationally. Her songs offer a blend of Western and African traditional rhythms, catering to the tastes and preferences of her followers. They feature a variety of genres, including makossa, soul/worship, ngone, reggae, funk, zouk, salsa, njang, mangambeu, and more. All of her songs are original, unique, unbeatable, and often explore obscure or unexplored themes.
